Pair of Iconic Elipson BS 404 Speakers in Sculptural Fiberglass, France, 1960s
DETAILS
This pair of Elipson BS404 speakers exemplifies the innovative design and audio technology of mid-20th-century France. Designed in the 1960s by Joseph Léon, these spherical speakers were initially developed for professional use, including cinema and studio applications, but their futuristic aesthetic quickly gained popularity in high-end interiors.
Each speaker is crafted from fiberglass, giving it a lightweight yet durable structure with a textured white finish. The spherical shape is not merely aesthetic but also functional, designed to reduce internal resonance and enhance sound dispersion. The compact tweeters mounted on top further refine the acoustic performance, delivering crisp highs and detailed soundscapes. The speakers rest on minimalist black metal tripod bases, giving them an elevated and sculptural presence.
CONDITION
